Cendravex Quinthal Hotel Mountain View

Our Story

Where Alpine Elegance Meets Canadian Hospitality

Hotel Heritage

It Started with a Vision

Back in 1987, Marcus and Delphine Quinthal were just two ski instructors who'd fallen head over heels for Whistler's peaks. They saw something the big hotel chains didn't - folks wanted luxury without losing that mountain soul, y'know?

What began as a renovated 12-room lodge has grown into the resort you see today. But here's the thing - we've kept that same energy from day one. Every expansion, every renovation, we've asked ourselves: "Would Marcus approve?" Usually over a glass of his favorite scotch.

These days, Cendravex Quinthal isn't just a hotel. It's become part of Whistler's fabric, and honestly? That makes us pretty damn proud.

"Luxury should feel like home, just with better views."

Our Journey Through Time

The milestones that shaped who we are

1987

The Beginning

Marcus and Delphine purchased the old Cedar Ridge Inn - 12 rooms, creaky floors, and all the charm you could ask for. Friends thought they were nuts.

The Spa Opens

Added the wellness center after Delphine returned from a trip to the Swiss Alps. She wouldn't shut up about alpine therapy treatments, so we built her a spa. Best decision ever.

2003

Going Gourmet

Brought in Chef Laurent Beaumont from Montreal. The restaurant renovation took eight months and nearly drove everyone crazy, but now we've got a spot that's booked solid most nights.

The Big Expansion

Added the North Wing - 45 new suites, conference facilities, and yeah, we finally got an indoor pool. Marcus held out for years but eventually the guests wore him down.

Sustainability Certified

Earned our Green Key Global certification. Solar panels, geothermal heating, the whole nine yards. Marcus would've loved seeing this - he was composting before it was cool.

The Folks Who Make It Happen

Our leadership team's been around the block

Sophia Quinthal-Chen

Sophia Quinthal-Chen

General Manager

Sophia grew up literally running through these halls - Marcus and Delphine's daughter knows every inch of this place. After getting her hospitality degree and doing stints in Tokyo and Barcelona, she came back home in 2018. She's got her dad's attention to detail and her mom's warmth with guests.

Laurent Beaumont

Laurent Beaumont

Executive Chef

Laurent's been running our kitchens since 2003, and honestly, we're not sure what we'd do without him. Trained in Lyon, worked in Montreal for years, but says Whistler's where he found his groove. He's stubborn as hell about his ingredients and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Amara Patel

Amara Patel

Spa & Wellness Director

Amara joined us in 2012 after running wellness programs throughout BC. She's constantly bringing in new treatments - sometimes too new (looking at you, that cryotherapy thing). But guests love her vision, and she's built a spa team that genuinely cares about making people feel amazing.

David MacKenzie

David MacKenzie

Director of Operations

Dave's the guy who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Former engineer who "accidentally" fell into hospitality 20 years ago and never looked back. If something breaks, he's already fixing it before you notice. His secret? A really good maintenance team and way too much coffee.

Elena Vasquez

Elena Vasquez

Guest Relations Manager

Elena's got this sixth sense for knowing what guests need before they ask. Started as a front desk clerk in 2010, worked her way up because she's just that good with people. Speaks four languages and somehow remembers everyone's names. It's actually kind of scary how good her memory is.

Jake Morrison

Jake Morrison

Adventure Activities Coordinator

Jake's the adrenaline junkie who makes sure our guests get their mountain fix. Professional ski instructor, certified climbing guide, and yeah, he's jumped out of planes more times than he can count. If you want to explore Whistler's backcountry, he's your guy - just prepared to keep up.

Our Team

What We Actually Stand For

Genuine Hospitality

No fake smiles here. We hire people who actually give a damn about making your stay memorable. If someone on our team doesn't light up talking about the mountains, they probably won't last long.

Mountain Respect

These peaks have been here way longer than we have, and they'll be here long after. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously - from how we source ingredients to how we heat the buildings.

Quality Without the Attitude

Yeah, we've got luxury everything. But we're not gonna make you feel stuffy about it. Come in your ski gear, come in your hiking boots - as long as you're respectful, you're welcome.

Community Matters

Whistler's not just where we work - it's home. We support local suppliers, hire from the community, and give back whenever we can. This place has given us everything.

Come See What We're About

Look, we could keep talking about ourselves all day, but the best way to understand Cendravex Quinthal is to actually experience it. The mountain air, the cozy fires, the food that'll make you rethink room service - it's all waiting for you.
